Renewable energy and energy efficiency certificates (LGCs, STCs, ESCs, VEECs, ACCUs and PRCs) are traded in the wholesale market, catering to large buyers and sellers. The minimum parcel size for trading is 5,000 certificates.
The price for a parcel of certificates with settlement within 3 days is known as the 'spot price.' Just like any other commodity, certificate prices are influenced by the forces of supply and demand, leading to fluctuations in wholesale prices.
